Google's AI tools can now understand the world better through images

Google is rolling out new artificial intelligence (AI) tools that can understand the world better through images. The new AI tools, called “Lens” and “Multimedia Search,” can identify objects, landmarks, plants, animals, and other things in images and provide relevant information about them. Lens can also translate text in images, identify products for online shopping, and copy and paste text from the real world into a phone. Multimedia Search allows users to search for information related to images or videos by uploading them or providing a URL. These AI tools leverage Google’s advancements in computer vision and natural language processing. The goal is to make it easier for users to search for and understand visual information, bridging the gap between the digital and physical worlds. While these tools raise privacy concerns, Google claims it does not store image uploads or use them for other purposes.
